The Swedish Mining Innovation Award is handed out by SIP STRIM to highlight an innovation, a project or a company that has been of great value for the Swedish mining sector during the recent year. The 2019 winner will be presented during Svemin’s meeting in Stockholm at Nalen, November 27th and Mobilaris MCE is nominated for the launch of Mobilaris Onboard™.

Mobilaris Onboard™ is a solution made to raise transparency, openness and productivity in a mine by navigation in real-time. The system’s core is the patent-pending positioning algorithm Mobilaris Hybrid Positioning which enables drivers to see incoming traffic and navigate safely within the mine.

  • It’s a great honor to be nominated! Mobilaris Onboard™ is proof of the innovation level at Swedish high-tech companies and the quality of our own engineers. Mobilaris Onboard™ works in the same way as if you had Google Maps in your smartphone, or your car navigator! It doesn’t depend on any new expensive infrastructure and still raises transparently in the mine, says Hans Wahlquist, VP Business Development & Strategic Product Management at Mobilaris.

Mobilaris MCE was the last finalist to be presented by the strategic innovation program SIP STRIM and the winner will be presented on November 27th.

  • Mobilaris has been able to combine current technologies to make a flexible solution. This is one of the components that enables the paradigm-shift that the mining industry faces. The innovation has a great global potential and is a fine example of Swedish development and innovation, says Jenny Greberg, Program director at SIP STRIM and president of the jury.
